Sondéla, meaning “come closer”, is a bushveld haven situated only a short 90 minutes’ drive from Johannesburg. Our past is steeped in history and our future is brighter than ever. We have many different types of accommodation to offer as well as a host of exciting activities.

 The original farm was called Tweefontein and boasts two spectacular sandstone buildings that date back to 1946. These buildings are still in use today and serve to enhance the farm atmosphere. In the earlier days the farm was used mainly for cattle and grain farming. In 1989, when the resort was started, the farming was downscaled to the vineyards and the Farmyard area providing a look into the basics of a working farm.

At the Farmyard Area you will find Piccinini’s Bistro & Ladies Bar, named after the original owner

Dr. F Piccinini, our reception and administration offices as well as one heated pool, one cold pool, a play area for the kids, a Farmyard with animals to pet and to feed and a general dealer providing daily necessities and curios.

We have a Nature Reserve with many different animals, and game drives are available in our game drive vehicles, on horseback and for large groups with a tractor and wagon. Our guests are also welcome to walk and cycle through the nature reserve to get even closer to the glorious bushveld.

Ideal for company meetings or team building sessions being close to Johannesburg and Pretoria. A stress-free environment that is conducive to hours of brain storming or motivation with alternative breakaway areas. Can seat 25 candidates in U shape formation and 30 in school style.

Unwind with an evening game drive followed by a sundowner on the viewing deck while watching the sunset. A hot home-cooked meal and a friendly chat around the fire completes the perfect day.
